A brigadeiro (brig-ah-DAY-ro) is Brazil's most beloved confection, the kind of thing that's hard to explain over text but easy to love in person. It's made by slow-cooking sweetened condensed milk with cocoa and butter until thick and fudgy, then hand-rolling each one and finishing with toppings like sprinkles, crushed cookies, or coconut flakes.

Vanessa grew up eating them at every celebration in her Brazilian family. She brought the recipe to Miami and now ships them fresh to people who are further away than we'd like.

Brigadeiros are at their best within the first few days of arriving. Keep them at room temperature for up to 5 days, no refrigeration needed. To make them last longer, the fridge gets you to 14 days and the freezer to 6 months. Either way, let them sit out for 10 to 20 minutes before eating so the texture and flavor come back. Some people like them cold straight from the fridge, and that's fine too. We ship in insulated packaging and recommend enjoying them within a few days of arrival for the best texture and flavor.
